Welcome back to my blog. In keeping with last week's entry and the fact that Valentine's Day is almost upon us, here is another romantic card.
This card was recently created for one of my classes and I simply love the monochromatic look. I used the beautiful Sand & Sea Suite. From the suite, the specific items I used were: the Friends are like Seashells Bundle; the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder; the Opal Rounds; and the Sand & Sea DSP.
Start with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic White Cardstock card base, scored in landscape at 4 /14". From your white, you'll also need 2 7/8" x 4 1/8", 1 3/4" x 3" and some scraps for the shells, etc. Trim a piece of the DSP to 4" x 5 1/4" and a piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock to 2 3/4" x 4".
Stamp your greeting onto the small white rectangle, and a collection of shells, sea stars and a sand dollar onto your scraps. (The little heart under the greeting comes from Whale Done stamp set.) Use your Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad.
With your Cut & Emboss Machine, emboss the Blushing Bride piece of cardstock with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder. Switch your plates, and cut out all the shells, etc.
Assembly is easy. Using your Multipurpose Liquid Glue, attach the Blushing Bride piece to the larger white rectangle. Next attach your greeting to the centre of the Blushing Bride. Attach the DSP to the front of the card base. Then attach the piece with the greeting to the centre of the DSP. Now for the fun. Decide how you want to arrange the shells, etc at the bottom. I chose to glue down the shells and the sand dollar and used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals for the two sea stars. Finally, add a little bling in the form of the Opal Rounds. And there you have it!
