Seashore Stampers April Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Seashore Stampers monthly blog hop. This month we are featuring Mother's Day or feminine cards.

I created this card for a swap and wasn't planning on featuring it on this blog. But as I stamped the sentiment, over and over again, it made me think of my Mum. She was an amazing woman who did SO much. It was all the little things she did that made such a big difference, so here we are.

This card was created with the lovely new Pansy Petals Suite. From all the sets I was able to get during the preorder, it is my absolutely favourite. I've made about half a dozen different creations and love the set more each time I use it.

While this is a fun fold, the base it still the standard 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I used one of the lovely new "In Colors," Pale Papaya. You score at 2", 3 1/8", 5 3/8" & 6 1/2". Burnish the inner most scores inwards, towards the centre and the outer scores towards the edge. This will create a step or platform in the middle. When my friend, Sue showed me this fold, she called it a picnic bench card. I like that so I'm sticking with it. :)

Trim DSP for the middle measuring 2" x 5 1/4". Next trim two pieces of a different but coordinating DSP for the side panels. They'll be 1 3/4" x 5 1/4". Cut a 2" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White for the back (to write your message.) You'll also need a scrap of Pale Papaya (at least 3 3/4" x 2 1/2") for the Stitched So Sweetly die and a white rectangle measuring 1 3/8" x 2 1/2" for the sentiment.

On the little white rectangle stamp your greeting in Gorgeous Grape. Stamp your solid pansy in Fresh Freesia (another new "In Color") and stamp the detailed one in Gorgeous Grape. The "face" is also Gorgeous Grape and the centre is Daffodil Delight.

Run the pansy and the Pale Papaya through through the Cut & Emboss Machine. With your Sprigs Punch, punch out 3 vellum sprigs.

Using your favourite adhesive, I prefer Multipurpose Liquid Glue, attach the DSP to the card face (the piece that sticks out) and the sides. Attach the large white rectangle to the back. With Mini Glue Dots, attach the springs. I put 1 on the top half and 2 on the bottom, slightly off centre. Glue your sentiment piece to the Pale Papaya die cut and then glue this to the front of the card. Attach the pansy with Stampin' Dimensionals. And finally, decorate with 3 flowers from the Loose Flower Flourishes. The Mini Glue Dots are great for this.

I still have some copies of the New Annual Catalogue. They are be available for pick up in the Greater Victoria Area.

Farewell to Rooted in Nature

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to my blog. This week, I'm getting ready to say goodbye to one of my favourite stamp sets, Rooted in Nature and the coordinating dies, Nature's Roots. As of May 4th, it will no longer be available. :(

Start with a Garden Green Cardstock base of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Your next layer is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the woodgrain paper from the In Good Taste DSP

On about a 3"x3" piece of Basic White Cardstock, stamp the tree round in your Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad and fussy cut it out. On white scraps, stamp the greeting & springs (x3) in your Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad and the leaf trio in your NEW Evening Evergreen Classic Stampin' Pad (available May 4th.) Use the dies to cut out the sprigs and leaf trio and separate the greeting words. You can either fussy cut them, use your paper trimmer or a combination of both. I did the latter. To embellish the card, I frayed our old jute ribbon but if you don't have that, you could loop some Linen Thread

For assembly attach the DSP to the card front. Using Mini Glue dots, attach the sprigs, leaf trio and ribbon to the back of the tree round. And finally, with your Mini Dimensionals, attach the round to the card front and the greeting on to the round.

Remember this gorgeous set is only available until May 3rd. Message me to to order yours before they're all gone.

I now have copies of the New Annual Catalogue. The are be available for pick up in the Greater Victoria Area.

Happy Easter Hope

Hello Everyone,

Happy Easter! For me, this is the season of hope and I felt this card was perfect for the year we've all had. Borrowing from our Provincial Health Office, Dr Bonnie Henry, "Be kind, be calm and be safe."

I started with a card base from Pool Party Cardstock. I then trimmed scraps of Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody Cardstocks into various widths and lengths. Cut a piece of white copy paper to 4" x 5 1/4". Place it on your Silicone Sheet and cover it with a thin layer of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Lay your strips down and push them up against each other at an angle, from the centre. It's okay for the ends of the strips to hang over. We'll trim them off later.

Once the glue on end bits is dry, put it in the Painted Texture Embossing Folder and run it through your Cut & Emboss Machine. Using your Paper Snips or Paper Trimmer, cut off the bits that are hanging over the edges.

Stamp you image, from Beautiful Moments, in Black Memento Ink and colour it with your Blends. I used Old Olive, Pool Party, Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight Blends. Cut it out with the large oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies. (This must have die set is retiring May 3rd.😢)

With a retired Glimmer Paper, I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to spell out HOPE. You could substitute this with one of the lovely new specialty papers. Tip: Cut out a small piece of paper for your HOPE and attach a same sized piece of Adhesive Sheets and then run it through your Cut & Emboss Machine.

For embellishments, I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the card front and taped it around the back. To add a little extra, I used a very old wooden embellishment over the oval. It's fun mixing the old and the new.

I've ordered copies of the New Annual Catalogue and then should be here in another week and a half. Message me to reserve your copy. They will be available for pick in the Greater Victoria Area. For my out of town clients, not to worry, I'll send them in the mail.

On orders under 200, please use the current host code, found under the image of the catalogue (to the right of this post.) If your order is around the 100 mark, consider becoming a member of the fabulous card sisterhood!
