Sale-A-Bration is Here!

Hello fabulous followers,

Meet my first card of the new year. This was created for an upcoming demonstrator member meeting. One of my demo friends is hosting a pizza and card night tonight. Each demonstrator will bring everything needed for everyone to make her card. Since 18 of us are attending, this means everyone leaves with 18 cards they made, 17 designed by others. This is a fabulous way to get new ideas and see what others are doing. (And it often leads me to buying stamp sets I don't already have.)

I chose to use the Tropical Oasis Suite. While this set has dies, I only used one of them because of the time involved. This is also why I chose not to do any heat embossing or colouring. Everyone has to make 18 cards in about 4 hours. I did ALL the prep work so my friends only have to stamp and assemble. I made my card in landscape but designed it to also be done in portrait as well.

Start with an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Grapefruit Grove Cardstock. Score it at 4 1/4" and fold it in half. Stamp your hibiscus and leaf stamp, with Grapefruit Grove Classic Stampin' Pad. Tip: Using a piece of scrap paper under your cardstock, stamp over the edge of the cardstock to give a more natural look. Trim a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock to 4" x 2 3/4" and a piece of Whisper White Cardstock 1/8" in bigger on both sides. Emboss with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. Since I misplaced mine, I used Subtle 3D instead. Attach the Night of Navy to the Whisper White using your Multipurpose Liquid Glue. With your Snail or Multipurpose Liquid Glue attach this to the card front.

On a scrap of Whisper White, stamp your greeting with the Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad. Punch it out with the Tailored Tag punch. Attach it to the centre of the Night of Navy with Stampin' Dimensionals. Colour a Pearl Basic Jewels with a coordinating Blends. Since we don't have Grapefruit Grove, I used Light Calypso Coral Blends. Apply the pearl to the bottom of the greeting tag. Using the little flower die, cut out a set from Grapefruit Grove. (This one die cuts out 3 adorable flowers!) I attached them using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
