Christmas Countdown Calendar

Hello all,

Can you believe it's less than one month until Christmas. To help you get ready I'm doing a class for our fabulous Christmas Countdown Calendar this Saturday.

This photo is from the catalogue.

I have 2 spots left, so message me if you're interested! This fabulous calendar is very sturdy and designed to be reused. As a parent to a child who had severe food allergies, I love that you get to choose what goes inside the boxes. It doesn't have to be candy, it could be a small toy, an ornament, a note or a clue for a scavenger hunt - or all of the above.

This photo shows the pieces of the kit.

Since the frame and boxes come assembled, this kit only needs decorating. You can only use the paper and stickers that come with the kit, which is what I did. Or you can add more with stamps, dies and embellishments. So this could be a 30 minute or 2 hour project depending on what you want. In my class, I'll be offering up a bunch of extras.

Here is my calendar. I chose to mix up the days for fun.

My shop is here for all your papercrafting needs. On orders under 200, please use the current Host Code found to the right of this post, underneath the picture of the catalogue. If your order is around the 100 mark, JOIN THE FUN for only 135. You'll get 165 worth of product of your choice (plus NO shipping.) Seashore Stampers November Blog Hop

 Hello fabulous blog hop followers,

Welcome to the Seashore Stampers Monthly Blog Hop. This month we're sharing some amazing 3D projects, just in time for the holidays.

My little creation comes from another Stampin' Up! Demo, Barb. She presented this at our Nanaimo meeting and I just loved it. I think it's ridiculously adorable and it's fairly quick and easy to make. It'll hold two mini Tic Tac containers or other similar sized treats.

Start with a 3" x 3 3/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock. You'll also need some pieces Whisper White Cardstock and Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

In portrait position, score the Gorgeous Grape at 1" and 3. Turning it to landscape, score at 1 1/4" at each end. Keeping it in landscape position, cut the vertical score lines up to the horizontal ones. You'll be making 2 cuts on each side. Trim up the 2 middle pieces to create tabs, taper them. With the tabs on the inside, fold up the ends to create the 5 sided box. Use your Multipurpose Liquid Glue for this assembly and set aside.

Stamp a left mug and then a right mug, from the Cup of Christmas Bundle. These funky stamps are actually reversible. (Something you'll be seeing more of in the new year.) Also stamp "enjoy" with the Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' Pad. With a scrap of Sparkle Glimmer Paper, use the holly die to cut out 2 pieces of holly. Also cut out the coffee mugs and the greeting, "enjoy."

Making sure the handles are facing the same direction, glue the mugs onto the long sides of the box and the holly onto one side. Attach the "enjoy" with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Now all you have to do is find something to put in it and you have a fabulous stocking stuffer.

Aloha!

Aloha from Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii!

My visit to Hawaii has been incredible and I'm so excited to be on this beautiful island. But my mind never strays far from cards. I see beautiful things and imagine them on a stamp set.

The iconic hibiscus can be found everywhere. I've seen them in white, yellows, oranges, pinks and reds. There are fragrant gardenia trees in blossom and the plastic-looking plumeria as well.

This stunning hibiscus is in our back yard.

While I don't have a card to show you this week, I'm excited to say the hibiscus and plumeria will be coming to you soon! They'll be featured in our fabulous new Occasions Catalogue, which you'll see in January. Since I'm away I missed "On Stage" where they reveal the new catalogue. Most of my friends went to Portland and a few went to Edmonton.

To distract myself from missing "On Stage." I've visited beaches, hiked trails and drove up to the northern most point of the island. There is still so much too do and see.

As I'm writing this, I'm sitting on the lanai in the back. Right now, there is a rainstorm, with more thunder than I've heard in 15 years on Vancouver Island. This family of gray francolins decided take cover from the storm and join me.

Peaceful Boughs Differently

Hello all,

Welcome to my Wednesday blog. This week I'm going to show you a card I made with the stunning Peaceful Boughs Bundle. It's quite different than my previous one (with the foil), which was rather traditional.

For this card, you'll need a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece and a scrap of Real Red Cardstock. Score it at the 4 1/4" mark to create your base. You'll also need a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White Cardstock and some scraps. The Bermuda Bay Cardstock is cut to 3 5/8" x 4 7/8". Finally you'll need a piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock, that's 3 1/4" x 4 1/4".

Using your Subtles 3D Embossing Folder, emboss the piece of Bermuda Bay. Attach it to the piece of Whisper White, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Cut out two boughs with the appropriate dies from the bundle. Cut out and emboss your Smoky Slate frame with the Heirloom Frame die & Embossing Folder.

On the scrap of Real Red, after wiping it with your Embossing Buddy, stamp your greeting with Versa Mark. Heat emboss with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Use the tag die from the bundle to cut it out

Arrange the boughs in the frame and, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, attach them to the frame where they connect. (Tip: Play with how you want to arrange the boughs before applying the glue. Just keep in mind the borders of the card.) Then glue the whole thing onto the the Bermuda Bay/Whisper White piece.

Cut 2 pieces of Linen Thread, about 3" in length. Bend the thread in half and poke it through the hole to make a loop of the greeting and then pull the two loose ends through the end. Repeat this on the other side. (Tip: Whether you bring the loop through the front of the back of the greeting will work but each gives you a different look.) Attach the greeting by with Stampin' Dimensionals Make sure to put them in about 1/2" from the edge, so they don't stick to the frame. Wrap the threads around the back of the card and use cello tape to tape them down.

Attach this piece to the red base. And last but not least, attach 5 Snowflake Sequins. I use glue dots folded in half to add some dimension.

Remember to use this month's current host code on any orders under 200. it can be found to the right of this post underneath the image of the catalogue.

Cheers,
Adrienne

Christmas Gift Card Holder

Hello all,

Now that Halloween has passed, I'm focused on all things Christmas. This week, in preparation for one of the city's biggest craft fairs, I've been making dozens of gift card holders. The one I'm going to show you today is quick and easy.

You'll need to pieces of Real Red Cardstock, measuring 8 1/2" x 3 1/4" and 8 1/2 x 1/2". Score both pieces at 2 3/4" and 6 3/4". (Tip: On the skinny piece, just go a hair over the 6 3/4" mark when scoring.) Cut a 3" x 4" piece of Let it Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut it again (in landscape position) at 2 1/2". This will give you 2 1/2" & a 1 1/2" pieces. You'll also need a 3" x 2 1/2" piece  and a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock.

Using your Real Red Classing Stampin' Pad, stamp your greeting "Very Merry" from the adorable Itty Bitty Christmas set on a scrap of Whisper White. Cut it out with your smallest Stitched Shapes Dies circle. If you don't yet have a die cutting machine, you can use a circular punch.

For assembly, fold along the score lines, bringing each end into the middle. On the small inside flap, apply Tear & Tape to both outside edges. Using your Snail or Multipurpose Liquid Glue, attach the DSP to the front of the card and the right flap. Attach the Whisper White piece to the inside of the left flap - this is where you'll write your message.

Lay the belly band over the top of the card and fold it around the back, along the score lines. Slip your Silicone Craft Sheet under the centre and apply a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Using a Stampin' Dimensional or Mini Glue Dots, attach your greeting to the seam of the belly band.

And just like that you now a lovely homemade gift card or money holder.
