Hello Wonderful People,
Welcome to the Seashore Stampers Monthly Blog Hop. This month we're featuring all things Mother's Day/Feminine.
Mother's Day brings out mixed feelings for me. I'm so happy to be Mum to an amazing daughter. My own Mum died suddenly and in 2003. She was an incredible woman and I still miss her terribly. Most of us are surrounded by beautiful women who mother. This Mother's Day, I encourage to make a few extra cards to share. Let those women know you see them.
I used the adorable Fable Friends Stamp Set to create this card. And am sad to say it is retiring. I won't be selling my set anytime soon (it's way too Beatrix Potter for me to let it go). So if this is one you've been pining for, order it now! The greeting comes from the Dressed to Impress Bundle.
Score the green cardstock, in landscape, at the 4 1/4" mark and fold. On your little green strip, score at 1/2" and 1" on each end. Fold them both like a step.
In Black Memento Ink, on the 4 1/4" x 3" piece of white, stamp your mamma duck. On your small piece of white, stamp the baby ducks. On a scrap on white, stamp your, "Happy Mother's Day" greeting. Both the greeting stamp and die come from the Dressed to Impress bundle.
Using the 3 3/4" x 2 3/8" Rectangle Stitched Die, cut out the mamma duck. Colour her and the baby ducks with your Stampin' Blends. I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather and Pool Party. Fussy cut the top bit of the baby ducks. I used Wink of Stella on the Mamma Duck's ribbon
The Petal Pink Vellum (from the Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock) flowers were made using the Flourish Dies and the little Petal Pink Cardstock hearts were made with the Dog Builder Punch.
For assembly, attach the pink flourish to the DSP with Mini Glue Dots. I tried to place most of them where they wouldn't be seen. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back of mamma duck to attach her to the DSP, then the DSP to the white and the white to the green card base. With liquid glue attach the baby ducks to the centre bottom of the green strip. On the outer two 1/2" tabs apply liquid glue. I attached this piece about a 1/4" from the bottom.
The two pink hearts were attached with liquid glue and for the one by the mamma duck, I used a Mini Dimensional. Finally, the greeting was attached with two regular Dimensionals. And yes, it does fold flat for mailing.
The retired list is out and we're having to say good bye to a LOT of products. If there is anything in the current or mini catalogues you want, message me and I'll let you know if they're carrying over into our new catalogue or not. A few of the discontinued items are on sale. Please remember to order your 2018-2020 In Color items, especially the reinkers. Historically, they disappear pretty quickly and these colours were VERY popular.
At any time, receiving a homemade card is touching. Now, it's even more meaningful. For the price of a stamp, you can let people know you care or are thinking of them.
See you on Wednesday. Be sure to visit the other blogs.
Cheers,
Adrienne
